Strive for Peace - Find the Joy

Everyone is dealing with the craziness and uncertainty of Covid-19. Everywhere you look there is evidence of this: the news, social media, empty parking lots, empty grocery shelves, and individuals walking around with face masks on. Today, this is our new normal. I found that my surroundings have increased my stress and anxiety. I sit here and think, what is within my control?

Strive for peace. How can this happen with everything going on around me? I have control over several things. I control my attitude, my behavior, and how I choose to spend my day. I have found that the news and social media have increased my anxiety and stress. I choose… to disengage myself from these things. Instead, I find comfort in a good book, a podcast (about anything other than Covid-19), time spent with my family, going for a walk, talking with friends on the phone, and meditation/prayer.

Find the Joy. Look for things to be thankful for. Be thankful that you are healthy. Be thankful that you can spend time with your family. Work towards all aspects of self-care, it is more than just a bubble bath. Share what you learn with family and friends. Everyone can use a little more peace, and have a little more joy.
