Tuesday, January 12th, Willow Haven was offered their first round of the COVID-19 vaccination. A number of Willow Haven staff and residents participated in this great opportunity, including Kari Waldorf, Director of Program Management, who oversees our IRTS, Crisis, and SUD programs.

Willow Haven’s Anders Jader, Intake Specialist - MHPR shared his experience receiving the vaccine:
“Getting the vaccine itself was painless. For those who are worried about needles, this one hardly feels more than a light pinch. As I type this now (one day after the vaccine), my shoulder feels slightly sore; but other than that, I’ve had no other side effects. Some of the staff felt dizzy about ten minutes after getting it, but all of those symptoms cleared up relatively quickly. Contrary to what some conspiratorial media are saying, nobody had any strange or unexplainable reactions. We are all healthy and very much the same people post-vaccine. It’s a real privilege to be able to receive the vaccine so soon, and I encourage anyone who is on the fence to really take advantage of this opportunity. We owe it to ourselves, our loved ones, and the people we serve.”
