On Wednesday, January 20th, Gull Harbour, one of our IRTS facilities located in Moorhead, received their first round of vaccinations. Carmen Schanilec, Treatment Director at Gull Harbour, received her first vaccination along with other staff and guest, and provide us with this recap of the day.
Gull Harbour successfully received the first round of vaccinations for both staff and clients with the assistance of CVS staff. CVS staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and were able to answer all of the questions staff and clients had regarding the vaccine. The administration process was very quick. It only took a few minutes to receive the injection for each participant. We did have an additional nurse come in to assist in the 15-minute observation time after the injection. The procedure was relatively painless with some staff only reporting minimal arm soreness afterwards. Staff and clients were very appreciative that they were able to receive the vaccine. Staff enjoyed being able to take their photos with the varying reasons of why they wanted to be vaccinated. We are very thankful to have a small role in curbing the spread of COVID and overall, the process was quick and efficient. We look forward to receiving our second dose in February!
